Barber out?

Nursing a strained quadriceps muscle in his left leg, Dallas Cowboys running back Marion Barberreceived treatment Tuesday morning and hopes to play against the Panthers on Monday, a league source told ESPN.com on Tuesday.

An MRI taken Monday morning confirmed the strain. Coach Wade Phillips said the Cowboys would have to "wait and see on that" when asked about Barber's status during Monday's news conference. The Cowboys will see how Barber's quad responds to treatment over the next few days and then make a decision.

Barber pulled up lame at the end of a 35-yard run in the fourth quarter like a sniper shot at him.

in the Cowboys' 33-31 loss to the Giants on Sunday night.

Television station KXAS-TV in Dallas-Fort Worth cited anonymous sources in reporting on Tuesday that Barber will miss one to two weeks, but the Cowboys initially said the running back was "50-50." Now, it appears to be a waiting game

Is Romo a Leader?

The big discussion for the past couple of yrs with Romo is can he be a leader on and off the field for his team. The problem has been having an overated pre-madonna in the huddle named TO.
Mr. Owens made it impossible for Tony to have control of the huddle. How many times did we see TO crying to get him the ball or screaming at anyone that would listen on the offensive side of the ball whether it was Romo, Todd Haley, Garrett, Wade, Parcells. Damn near every person that had a set of ears had to hear the bitching. back to Romo. Tell me if this makes u feel any better about his ability to lead a team to the playoffs and maybe not fold in Dec.

Texas talks revenge!!!

Alas a reunion of the two teams that had the best Big 12 game last yr. The longhorns look to avenge their heartbreaking lose to the red raider. The matchup although leaves something to be desired in name power alone. Texas Tech with no Graham or Trabtree (crabtree) for those who dont know deions nickname of crabtree. Anywho Texas comes in #2 in the nation looking to let bevo mark his territory. The game last yr was no fluke with the Raiders out rushing the horns (105 yds to 80 for texas). The offense also out gained the horns by over 200 yards. Tech deserved the win due to the utter whippin they put on the horns all game long on both sides of the ball. Techs win last year was no fluke a rarity but no fluke. This year the Horns are huge favs on the over but just a second says tech. Tech lost few starters from last years team, in turn meaning Texas had better not just stroll into this game as they did last week vs. Wyoming. McCoy looked shaky in the first half, floating passes early in drives eliminating a consistency in the passing game. McCoy came out in the second half with a different agenda. Making sure his passes were on target and using his athleticism to evade the rush from Wyoming. Look for Tech to be jacked up about the game and looking for an upset. Upset is highly unlikely but do not be suprised if you see Tech come out "guns ablaze" hehe as they try and knock of a huge Big 12 foe. Texas will have to get it started early to try and break the spirits of the young QB for Tech. the worst possible thing that can happen is the youngster get in a rhythm early and shred the Horns shaky at times secondary. Orakpo is dearly missed at DE this year.
Horns Keys 2 Success: Establish Run Early, Get Shipley involved in passing game, cover 2 on D.
Techs Keys 2 Success: 10-15 yd underneath routes, no points given up off special teams, no turnovers, contain McCoy in pocket, establish pressure up middle on McCoy.
Looks to be a barn burner one way or the other. Horns looking for rout Tech looking to upset.
See: Houston Cougars vs #5 OK State Cowboys. upset galore.

Cowboys vs. Giants

Rivalry? Of course. Would the Cowboys be better of proving it before talking it. Well, this is a compromising situation. The Cowboys have had the upper advantage in the regular season with Romo starting (5-0) in his starts. Brad Johnson started when we lost to them last season. Romo seems to find the magic or luck to keep the faithful behind him. He need not boast or trash talk due to the record speaking for itself. This is foreign to Patrick Crayton, because he feels it necessary to constantly have a(n) HSO (Hot Sports Opinion) on the Giants. Repeatedly opening his mouth to scrutiny from Giants such as Brandon Jacob's. Crayton refers to the cowboys "urinating" on the Giants to "mark their territory". Lets not forget the two passes in the playoff game against the Giants in which Crayton dropped two crucial passes that could have vaulted the Cowboys to the victory. Instead he drops the two passes creating more fodder for the Giants to laugh about. Again this week Crayton decided to give the Giants some bulletin board material by saying he doesnt repect the players just what they do on the field. Bad idea buddy. One respectable game this season can be a fluke but Crayton decides to toos just a bit more gas on the fire as if the new stadium doesnt bring enuff pressure. The Cowboys need to strap em up and bring it or you could be looking at a 35-14 beating. Crayton will need all his lil crafty ways to make sure his proclomation will indeed come true. Big Game Tony is who we need but with the addded pressure i wish good luck.
Heres a song the Giants hope to reverse: Cowboys Song

Bye Bye Playoffs

The Texas Rangers were my fav. team growing up due to the relation of location to me in texas. The rangers have provided nothing but heart-ache and lack luster performances in more than 25 yrs worth of sparedom. This series with the A(hole)'s haha has become a hug stumbling block in the lil rangers winding road to the playoffs. The lose tonight puts the Rangers 6 games back in the west. With an upcoming series with the LA Angels they is a chance to do damage and make hay, but with no offensive support the already sliding pitching staff will stand on quick sand against a lineup that will methodically tear you apart. Everyone cross your fingers that the bats come out to save us or to just let us R.I.P.

Getting Started

"How bout that ride in?" lol line from alans speech when they get to vegas in "The Hangover"
This is the first installment of Sports from a P1's eyes. I will slowly break down all the background leading to this blog. So to start I imagine you are wondering what a P1 is? Good Question. Being a P1 comes from listening to the best and only sports radio station in the galaxy worth listening to 1310 The Ticket. Thats not all though, anyone can listen occasionally but to be a P1 you are required at least 6 to 8 good hrs a day of listening. Sounds like allot i know but we all have jobs and some of us even get to listen to the radio all day while doing mindless work. I am in luck i suppose (ha ha) I am just a landscaper, which allows for ample free listening time since I am my only employee. : )
The Ticket is very unique in that it covers from sports to everyday headlines from all sections of the news. Funny HAHA.I know I know sounds boring, but with 13 years in a row leading the male demo of 25-54 yrs of age and also being the 1st and only all sports all the time radio station in Dallas Texas I think they are a trend setter. They might have a lil credibility in the sports community and have also been awarded a Marconi Award (#1 Sports Radio
station in America) Do me a favor and just check it out. please
Feel free to let me know if its gold or pooh.
